One of my favourite things to indulge in all year round not just around Christmas is Camembert. It truly is an indulgence, not going to lie, I do feel like taking a nap after eating a whole tub of camembert. Looking at photos literally makes my mouth salivate.
Some of my favourite ways to eat it is with cranberry, or garlic and rosemary or even just with olive oil over the top. To dip in I just rip up some old bread and then bake it for the last 10 mins with the camembert to make it warm and toasty.
I think it's a great dish as a starter for a dinner party as everyone can dip in what they want or a treat to just eat by yourself.
Recipe for Cranberry Camembert:
This can be easily adapted to be for garlic and rosemary by stuffing the top of the camembert with the herbs inside the cross.
1) Preheat your oven to 180
2)Cut a cross in the top of the camembert each slice being about 5cm and 1 cm deep
3) Bake for 20 mins
4) Peel the cross back so you can put the cranberry sauce in the middle
5)Bake the camembert for 10 mins
6) Eat and enjoy!
Top tips - Bake inside the wooden box it comes in. It's much easier!
I've found with this recipe the cranberry sinks a little into the cheese and you can't see it but don't worry, it's a nice surprise to find the cranberry.
Things you're doing wrong:
Buying low quality camembert. Camembert isn't too expensive, but when you don't buy the right kind it won't want to melt.
Not being patient enough- let it stay in the oven for the whole time, don't be tempted to sneak a piece or it won't all be melted.
