Nottingham Street Food Club Review

Nottingham Street Food Club, whilst being at the centre of Victoria centre, it is still quite a hidden gem for locals. This is a great place to go if you can't decide where to eat and want to have an informal date, they also have a bar inside. The decor on the inside is very fun, with one of the tables being a refurbished piano and there are also loads of benches to sit on. It really is like going to a street food festival, with a small range of places and the benefit of being able to stay warm and dry inside.

I think the novelty of is the vendors inside are all independent, and they change on a regular basis which makes it fun and new everytime you go. This time I went, there was Homeboys (asian inspired food), Cheese Wrecked (fancy mozzarella sticks), Smoqued (Mexican food) and Taste of Korea (Korean street food). As someone who loves trying different types of food, it's great to go as a group, so you can get food from different places and all share it together and you get to sample all the different types.

This time I went with my veggie friend and we decided to split two things together. I got a Tofu Bibimbap from Taste of Korea as well as Chickpea and Sweet Potato Tacos from Smoqued.

This was the Tofu Bibimbap £7.50. I liked the fact that it had a variety of different things on top, my favourites were the mushrooms and the pickled cabbage. You were also able to customise it so you could make it vegan by not having the egg. Everything is tied in really well by the sauce, it was really tasty mixed in with the rice. Overall yummy, but quite spicy in my opinion but I can't really take spice.

These were the sweet potato and chickpea tacos £7.50 , it was the first time I've had soft shell tacos so I have nothing to compare them to but I really enjoyed them. There was so much yummy filling that it was hard to contain it all on such a small taco, but I didn't waste one drop. This was also spicy but you could tell there were a lot of herbs in it as well, making it a really warming dish. A little bit heavy on the onion, but it was great with a squeeze of lime on top.

Overall I really like it here, I would definitely go again, the vibe is really nice. It is on the pricier side of street food, but the quality of food is high. Also as a place they seem very conscious of the environment, with having no plastic containers, and having bamboo cutlery. Which is always a plus in my books. Be aware that it's a cashless place though.

Thanks for reading,

Howe x
